  About the Organization

  Indiana Skeptics?

The Indiana Skeptics are a local, autonomous organization. We believe in science, critical thinking and sensible explanations for alleged paranormal events.

We do not reject paranormal claims on a priori grounds, but we do believe that extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Our members would be happy to investigate strange happenings or assist local media and other organizations in properly conducting their own investigations.

In addition to the activities above the organization provides an opportunity for those with a skeptical mindset to interact socially.

You are a bunch of liberal atheists aren't you?

The Indiana Skeptics have no political affiliation. I am aware of skeptics who back the Republican, Democratic, and even Libertarian parties.

The Indiana Skeptics have no official position on the existence of God. Religion relies on faith which by definition offers no material evidence. We are interested in claims which are testable and provide physical evidence. Atheists, Agnostics, Buddhists, Christians, Deists, Hindus, Humanists, Jains, Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Sikhs, and people of any religion are welcome.

You guys don't sound so bad, can I join?

Of course you can. We are just getting started so we don't have dues or membership forms. The only thing you need to do to become a member is join the mailing list.
